CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — OhioHealth plans to invest $10.2 million to expand cancer treatment space at Berger Hospital, more than doubling the number of infusion bays and adding a second CT scanner over the next two years, the health system announced.
The multi-phase project will expand the Bradley Cancer Center’s infusion center from seven to 12 private treatment spaces and add a second pharmacy hood so more chemotherapy and other medications can be prepared on site, according to OhioHealth. The hospital will also install a second CT scanner, doubling its imaging capacity. Berger Hospital currently operates the only CT scanner in Pickaway County.
The expansion is fully funded by OhioHealth, according to the announcement. The added infusion capacity and imaging equipment are intended to let more Pickaway County-area patients receive cancer treatment locally rather than traveling to specialty centers elsewhere.
Casey Liddy, Berger Hospital’s president, said in a statement that the investment is “the next step in a vision we are building together, one that puts our patients first,” adding that the project reflects a commitment to keeping “exceptional cancer care right here in Pickaway County.”
The Bradley Cancer Center provides medical oncology, infusion therapy and supportive cancer care. OhioHealth said the expansion will also create new positions in nursing, pharmacy and imaging.
The project follows a 2025 investment at Berger Hospital that brought 3D mammography technology to the facility, which OhioHealth said now serves more than 4,500 women annually.
