CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Circleville City Council set pay raises for the mayor, city auditor, law director, council president and council members through 2031, passing an ordinance Aug. 4 that locks in salary schedules for the terms beginning in January 2028 and January 2030.
Ordinance No. 08.48-2026 gives the mayor’s salary a step increase from $61,441.53 in 2028 to $67,138.82 by 2031. The city auditor’s pay rises from $74,763.90 to $81,696.53 over the same span, and the law director’s salary climbs from $65,623.03 to $71,708.06, according to the ordinance.
Council members will see their pay increase from $7,993.84 in 2028 to $8,735.09 in 2031, while the council president’s salary rises from $8,792.60 to $9,607.91, the ordinance states.
The mayor, auditor and law director will continue to receive health and dental insurance, with the city covering 85% of monthly premiums and the elected official paying the remaining 15%, according to the ordinance.
The pay schedule takes effect at the earliest date allowed by law and does not carry an emergency clause.
