PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — Scioto County first responders, along with local and state resources, were out in force Tuesday evening clearing roadways of downed trees after severe storms moved through the region, according to the Scioto County Emergency Management Agency.
The agency said crews were focused mainly on clearing roads littered with fallen limbs and trees as storms swept across south-central Ohio Tuesday afternoon and evening, part of a system that also prompted severe thunderstorm warnings and damage reports in neighboring counties.
The Scioto County EMA is asking residents who sustained damage to fill out an online damage-assessment form. The agency said it is mainly interested in reports of damage to structures, but encouraged residents to also submit reports of downed trees and other property damage.
The agency also urged county residents to remain weather aware over the next 24 hours as additional storm chances move through the area.
