HILLSBORO, Ohio — A McArthur man was arrested Aug. 12 on a disorderly conduct charge after Highland County deputies responded to a disturbance call, one of several incidents deputies investigated over a two-day stretch this week, according to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
Bobby Moore, 28, was taken into custody and charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated after a resident in the 11000 block of Dundee Drive reported a disturbance, the sheriff’s office said in its regular incident report.
The arrest came a day after deputies responded to a more serious report in the 6400 block of McVey Road, where a resident said they had been assaulted. That case remains under investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies were also called to the 11000 block of Cathys Court on Aug. 11 after a resident reported the theft of several items, and to the 4900 block of Strain Road for a report of a domestic disturbance that investigators determined was a verbal dispute; no charges were filed in that case, the sheriff’s office said. On Aug. 12, deputies responded to a report of animals at large in the 4400 block of Panhandle Road.
The sheriff’s office also reported several arrests and citations stemming from warrants and traffic stops during the period. Justin S. Sellman, 23, of Hillsboro, was charged with obstructing official business. Canton J. Evans, 18, of Hillsboro, was cited for an assured-clear-distance violation. Scott D. Dawson, 47, of Washington Court House, and Thomas J. Cordes, 39, of Pleasant Plain, were each taken into custody on failure-to-appear warrants.
Deputies, along with fire and EMS crews, responded to 145 calls for service across Highland County between Aug. 11 and Aug. 12, including 82 law enforcement calls, 37 EMS runs and 26 fire calls, the sheriff’s office said. The Highland County Jail reported 50 inmates in custody as of the report, 41 men and nine women.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
