CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Ross County commissioners will hold a public hearing on the county’s comprehensive plan at 9:30 a.m. Monday, according to the board’s meeting agenda.

The hearing is scheduled shortly after the board convenes its regular meeting at 9 a.m. at the Ross County Courthouse, 2 North Paint Street, Suite H, in Chillicothe.

A comprehensive plan guides decisions on land use, zoning and infrastructure across the county for years to come. Ross County commissioners previously drew public criticism over a separate land-use matter when they imposed new zoning restrictions on county residents weeks before the 2024 election.

The Aug. 24 agenda also includes a presentation from Ross-Chillicothe Convention & Visitors Bureau Director Melody Young and board member Curt McAllister at 10 a.m., followed by a 10:30 a.m. presentation from Jo Welsh of the Bottoms Up Diaper Bank, the agenda shows. Commissioners will recess from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. before reconvening for a work session.
