
N. KATHLEEN “KATHY” (COONROD) GOLDSBERRY, age 95, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026 at her daughter Karen’s home.
She was born on July 18, 1931 in Lyndon, Ohio to the late Rufus and Vasie (Tackett) Coonrod. She was raised in Frankfort, Ohio and was a 1949 graduate of Frankfort High School. She always had a smile on her face and treated everyone with kindness. Kathy worked in the early 1950's at G.C. Murphy in Washington CH. That is where she met her beloved husband, William Goldsberry, Jr., they were married on June 5,1952 in Washington CH. He preceded her in death on July 21,2006.
Kathy was a lifetime member of the Burnett Ducey VFW 4964 where she had served in the Auxiliary as President for several years. She also belonged to the American Legion Post #25 where she also served as President. Kathy volunteered at Fayette County Memorial Hospital for ten years in the gift shop and had attended the South Side Church of Christ. Kathy was a cancer survivor of 29 years and had lived with a partial kidney.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kathy was preceded in death by her siblings, Velma (1988), Ralph (2019), Carl (2024), and Dale (2013); son-in-law, George Dawes (2003); father and mother-in-law, William Goldsberry, Sr. (1989) and Esther Goldsberry (1988); brothers-in-law, Robert (2023), and Barry Goldsberry (2024).
Survivors include her children, Sharon McCarty, Michael (Cynthia) Goldsberry,
Karen Dawes, and Mark Goldsberry; brother, Glenn (Edna) Coonrod of Missouri; sister- in-law, Nancy Davis of Ohio; brother-in-law, Ted Goldsberry of Georgia; and ten grandchildren and great-grandchildren with a new baby girl arriving soon in September. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Highlawn Cemetery with Danny Dodds officiating.
