CAROLYN JEAN LEISURE, age 79, of Washington CH, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at her home.
She was born on May 1, 1947 in Franklin County to the late Willard Harding and Betty Lee (Zimmerman) Sims. She attended Washington High School. Carolyn was a housewife and stay-at-home mother, raising her two boys. She attended the South Side Church of Christ until her health would no longer allow her to attend. She enjoyed playing Bingo, playing games on her phone, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everett Kenneth “Kenny” Leisure, whom she married on August 17, 1968; brother, Willy Sims; and nephew, Willy Sims.
Survivors include her sons, Tim (Stacey) Leisure, and Chad (Cassie) Leisure; grandchildren, Kenneth “Todd” Leisure, Timothy (Maria) Leisure, Travis Leisure, and Branson (Carrie) Leisure; great-grandchildren, Liam, Lexi, Rori, Ali, Maddie, Paitynn, Kallum, Nolan, Collin, Chloe, Ellie, Porter, and Ryder; and brother, Rick (Janice) Sims. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
