BUFORD, Ohio — The Highland County Health Department’s Care-A-Van returned to two southern Highland County communities Wednesday, offering free immunizations, blood pressure checks and other basic health services to residents.
The mobile clinic was parked at Buford Church of Christ from 10 a.m. to noon, then moved to Lynchburg Park from 1 to 4 p.m., the health department said in a Facebook post.
Staff offered blood glucose readings, blood pressure checks, adult and child immunizations, limited lab work, head lice screening, and flu and COVID-19 vaccines. All services were free, and no appointment was necessary, according to the post.
Wednesday’s stop is part of the health department’s seasonal Care-A-Van rotation, which runs from April through September and brings the mobile clinic to a different pair of Highland County communities each Wednesday. Buford and Lynchburg are visited on the first Wednesday of the month, with other stops in the rotation including Greenfield, Leesburg, Rainsboro and Mowrystown, according to the department’s published schedule.
