RAINSBORO, Ohio — A crash closed the intersection of State Route 753 and U.S. 50 in Highland County for an indefinite period Thursday morning, the Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire District said.

The district said in a Facebook post that drivers should avoid the area, adding that the closure would remain in place for an unspecified amount of time. The agency did not release information on injuries or the number of vehicles involved.

State Route 753 and U.S. 50 run concurrently for about a mile through Rainsboro before splitting, with SR 753 continuing north toward New Petersburg and Greenfield and U.S. 50 continuing on toward Hillsboro.

Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire District, based in Greenfield, provides round-the-clock fire, rescue and emergency medical response across more than 362 square miles spanning Highland, Fayette and Ross counties.
