CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A block of East Fourth Street in the heart of downtown Chillicothe will shut down for a full day Saturday, the city announced.

The closure runs from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, and covers East Fourth Street between the alley beside the Mighty Children’s Museum and South Paint Street, according to the city of Chillicothe.

The affected block sits along one of downtown Chillicothe’s most heavily trafficked pedestrian corridors. The Mighty Children’s Museum, a nonprofit museum at 21 East Fourth St., anchors that stretch of road and draws families from across Ross County to its hands-on exhibits.

The city did not specify the reason for the closure in its announcement. Drivers with questions or concerns were asked to call the city’s service department at 740-773-2700 or email [email protected].
