SOUTH BLOOMFIELD, Ohio — South Bloomfield Village Council will take up a first reading on a new pay and staffing plan for the village’s police department when it meets Wednesday, according to the meeting agenda posted by the village.
The regular council meeting is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 9 at the village office. On the agenda is Ordinance 2026-12, which would create and adopt a 2026 staffing matrix and compensation pay schedule for the South Bloomfield Police Department. The measure is listed for its first reading, meaning it would need additional readings before council could vote on final passage.
Council is also scheduled to consider Ordinance 2026-11, which would make supplemental appropriations for current expenses and other spending through the end of the 2026 fiscal year and declare an emergency, allowing it to take effect immediately if passed.
Two resolutions on the agenda deal with road paving contracts: Resolution 2026-14 would accept a bid from Roese Brothers Paving Inc., and Resolution 2026-15 would accept a bid from Darby Creek Excavating, each authorizing Village Administrator to execute an agreement with the respective company. Both are listed with emergency clauses.
Council members are also expected to interview candidates for an open council seat, with a possible executive session under Ohio’s open meetings law to discuss the applications. The mayor’s report includes the appointment of the open seat.
