HILLSBORO, Ohio — Four people were arrested or cited on charges ranging from domestic violence to drug paraphernalia as Highland County deputies responded to a string of calls across the county Sept. 4 and 5, according to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
Richard A. McComas, 44, of Hillsboro, was arrested on a domestic violence charge and for failure to appear, the sheriff’s office said. Donald T. Holt, 62, of Leesburg, was arrested on a probation violation. Memphis C. Dunville, 23, of Hillsboro, and Randy L. Wiscup, 53, of Hillsboro, were each arrested on drug paraphernalia charges, according to the sheriff’s office.
The arrests came amid a busy stretch for deputies, who also fielded reports of disorderly conduct, fraud and vandalism in multiple parts of the county over the two-day period, the sheriff’s office said.
On Sept. 4, a deputy responded to the 12000 block of state Route 28 after a report of a disorderly person; investigators determined the call stemmed from a verbal dispute and no charges were filed, according to the sheriff’s office. A resident of the 400 block of Park Avenue in Lynchburg reported a fraud, and a resident of the 4500 block of Anderson Road reported vandalism. A deputy called to the 6400 block of state Route 138 for a report of a disorderly male found the man had already left the area, the sheriff’s office said.
On Sept. 5, deputies responded to the 2700 block of Stephen Road after a report of a disorderly female. Following the investigation, the woman was transported to Highland District Hospital, according to the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office logged 160 calls for service over the two-day span, including 101 law enforcement calls, 51 EMS calls and nine fire calls. The Highland County Jail held 45 inmates as of the report — 38 men and seven women.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
