LEESBURG, Ohio — The Village of Leesburg will hold its annual Village Clean-Up Days from Sept. 28 through Oct. 5, giving residents a week to dispose of unwanted household items at no cost, according to a notice posted by the village on Facebook.
Dumpsters will be placed in the village office parking lot at 55 S. Fairfield St. for the duration of the event, the village said.
Residents are asked not to place tires, appliances containing freon, batteries, oil, solvents or liquid paint in the dumpsters. New this year, the village said, a separate area will be marked exclusively for tire disposal.
Outside of clean-up week, residents can drop off yard brush, tires and metal year-round at the village’s sewer plant, 7 East St., during regular business hours of 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, according to the village.
Leesburg is a village of roughly 1,300 residents in Highland County, situated just north of the county seat of Hillsboro. Founded in 1802 and nicknamed “The Friendly Village,” Leesburg operates under a mayor-council government led by Mayor Rita Smith-Daulton.
