Helen Sue “Susie” Butler, 84, of Chillicothe, ran into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, at 3:22 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2026.

She was born July 8, 1942, in Willard, Kentucky, to the late Walter and Beaulah Spence Fraley. On November 22, 1962, she married Lewis O. Butler, Jr. who also welcomed her in Heaven.

Surviving are a son, Edward L. (Sherry) Butler, of Chillicothe; a daughter, Sharon (Mark) Johnson, of Marion; grandchildren, Melissa Butler, Sara Hoffman, Andrew (Elaney) Johnson and Josh (Tessie) Roberts; great grandchildren, Halia Anderson, Evan Hoffman, Leven Anderson, Kami Roberts and Joshie Roberts; sisters, Betty Little and Jeanne Dalton; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Mila Anderson and sisters, JoAnn Cloud, Mary Everhart and Jan Elliott.

Susie was a graduate of Centrailia High School. She had worked as a Cook at the former JR Valentines restaurant for many years. Susie was a member of Jefferson Avenue CCCU. She loved Jesus and her family. Susie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
