Clarence E. Gaines, 80, of Chillicothe passed 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the Piketon Nursing Center.
He was born February 24, 1946 in Chillicothe to the late Donald H. and Dorothy I. Cochenour Gaines. On May 1, 1970 he married Linda D. Lancaster who survives.
Also surviving are children, Ed Gaines and Janet (Mike Ross) Gaines; 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; sister, Donna (John) Digges. He was predeceased by daughter, Wendy Kingery.
Clarence retired from the Mead Corporation and was a member of the Ross County Conservation League.
There will be no public services. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
