NEW BOSTON, Ohio — New Boston will host its annual Party at the Park on Sept. 26, with a full day of rides, live music and a fireworks finale planned for the village’s Millbrook Park, according to a flyer posted by the village.
The event runs from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a Kidz Zone offering rides, games and prizes for children, the village said. Vendors and food trucks will also be on site, and organizers are asking attendees to bring their own chairs or blankets.
Four acts are scheduled to perform: Frank Grasso, Fox & Clover, Appalachian Steel and Hot Rod DeVille. The day will close with a fireworks display at 8:45 p.m.
The village first held a Party in the Park in October 2017, when then-Mayor William Williams said officials intended to make it an annual tradition. It has since become a fixture of New Boston’s fall calendar, drawing residents from the village and surrounding neighborhoods to Millbrook Park for free entertainment.
The village previously listed the Sept. 26 date as part of its broader fall event schedule, which also includes a Halloween party with New Boston Schools in October and a Breakfast with Santa event in December.
New Boston is a village of roughly 2,300 residents along the Ohio River, entirely surrounded by the city of Portsmouth on its west, north and east sides.
