Daniel Jeffery “Jeff” Holsinger, age 69, of Greenfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Jeff was born on April 7, 1957, in Greenfield, Ohio to Rodney and Cleo Blain Holsinger. He graduated from McClain High School in 1975, where he was a member of the 1975 District Champion basketball team. Jeff followed in the footsteps of his father and brother and became an electrician. He was a proud 31-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) 575 out of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Jeff was married June 24, 1982 to Kim Murphy. Together they raised four children and built a life centered around family. Jeff taught his family how to love deeply and show up for one another, and he engrained in them the importance of family. While Jeff had many interests throughout his life, nothing compared to the joy he found in his family. He was a deeply devoted father who never missed an opportunity to support his children, and he stepped into into the role of “Pap” with boundless energy and endless love. He took pride in attending his grandkids basketball and baseball games and watching them cheer, wrestle and compete in gymnastics. They were the absolute center of his world. His grandchildren never tired of hearing his quiet pieces of wisdom, making paper airplanes with him, hearing his laughter fill the room. He loved to share his love of basketball with them, tell silly stories, sneak them lots of sweets, and simply spend time with them.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 44 years, Kim (Murphy) Holsinger, his children, Benjamin (Jenny) Holsinger, Emily (Eric) Huffer, Erin (Tony) Garrett, and Andie (Ryan) Stark. He was a cherished Pap to Elliott, Ezra, and Ean Huffer, Marnie and Calvin Lewis, Isaac and Cora Garrett, Addison Rooker and Ryker Stark and Aiden Hargrove.
Jeff is also survived by his siblings; Judy (Steve) Pazienza, Shirley Jette, Crystal (Bobby) Davis and Steve (Miracle) Holsinger, brother-in-law; Darrell Riffe, sisters-in-law; Sherry Holsinger, Carla Holsinger and Sandra Shipe, as well as many nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Jeff”. He is also survived by special lifelong friends; Jay Beatty, Richie Priest, Jimmy Walker and Bruce Pinkerton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rodney and Cleo Holsinger, sister; Diane Riffe, brothers; Dennis Holsinger, and Rodney “Jay” Holsinger and a sister-in-law; Peggy Stodgal.
On Saturday, August 29, 2026, following a profession of faith and acceptance of Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, Jeff was baptized while surrounded by his family. This outward expression of his faith was deeply important to Jeff in his final days, and his family will be forever grateful for the opportunity to share such a special moment with him. His baptism was made possible by Pastor Jamie Darling of Rainsboro Methodist Church and his niece, Sharon Holbrook.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Adena Greenfield Medical Center, Dr. Coats, and Adena Hospice for the care, kindness, and compassion shown to Jeff and his family.
A private celebration of Jeff’s life will be held by the family at a later date.
Full service details and the family guest book are available at Anderson-Ebright Funeral Home.
