HILLSBORO, Ohio — Jeeps, classic cars, motorcycles and tractors will roll into the Highland County Fairground on Saturday for a cruise-in fundraiser benefiting the Leesburg Veterans Memorial.
The free public event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and is hosted by the Highland County Veterans Service Office with support from American Legion Post 568, according to a post from the Village of Leesburg. Jeep owners who want to register for the cruise-in judging pay a $10 fee; there is no charge for other cruisers to attend.
Alongside the cruise-in, the Highland County Cornhole club is running a tournament with $20-per-team registration opening at 11 a.m., before bags fly at noon. The fairground will also host food trucks, vendors, a 50/50 raffle and a shredding truck from the RPHF Solid Waste District, which serves Ross, Pickaway, Highland and Fayette counties. New this year, organizers have added a scavenger and duck hunt, and the Highland County RISE Program is bringing its “Operation Bridge” outreach to the event.
Jeep registration and judging wrap up at 1 p.m., with awards and the close of vendors and the shred truck set for 3 p.m.
Proceeds benefit the Leesburg Veterans Memorial, a monument in the village’s Veterans Memorial Park that honors those killed in action, held as prisoners of war or listed as missing in action. The memorial was placed by American Legion Post 568 along with concerned citizens and organizations in the Leesburg area.
