PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — The Pickaway County Emergency Management Agency lifted an evacuation order for the Laurelville area Sunday morning, saying major roadways have reopened and residents can return to their homes.

The evacuation had been in effect after heavy overnight rainfall along Salt Creek prompted the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office to warn residents along Salt Creek Drive and the surrounding waterway to prepare to evacuate early Sunday.

The agency said a full press release on the incident would follow, according to the advisory posted Sunday morning.

Residents with non-emergency questions were directed to contact the sheriff’s office at 740-420-5850.
