
Donald Lee Thompson, 85, of Chillicothe died unexpectedly on Friday evening, October 2, 2026, at his home. He was born on Sunday, January 26, 1941 in Chillicothe, a son of the late Carvel Daniel and Helen L Thompson. On June 3, 1962, from the halls of Unioto High School he married his sweetheart and the love of his life, the former Margie Neff.
He is survived by his wife, Margie, they had two sons; Garry (a special daughter-in-law, Mary) Thompson of Panama City Beach, FL and Christopher Thompson of Chillicothe, two grandchildren; Jeb (Lexi) Thompson of Ft. Stewart, GA and Addy Thompson of Calera AL. Don is also survived by his brother; Larry Thompson of Chillicothe, his cousins; Patty and Roger, Ann and Sandy, Wanda, nieces; Angie, GiGi, Donna, Hollie, Carrie and Missy, nephews; Jeff and Scott and his in-laws; Don (Carol) Neff and Patty Neff. Preceding Don was his brother-in-law; Ronald Neff, sister-in-law, Carolyn Thompson and his best friend Larry Kingery
Don was a 1959 graduate of Unioto High School, Don loved getting together with his classmates. He attended Brookside church for several years. Don was employed at Mead Corporation for 41 and a half years. He retired on February 1, 2001, as the Payroll and Maintenance supervisor.
He was a member of the Frankfort Lodge #309 – Free and Accepted Masons. Don served the lodge as treasurer for 23 years. He served on the Board of Directors of the Homeland Credit Union from 1992 to the present. Don was a true and trusted friend.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the Ebright Funeral Home, Frankfort with Rev Ralph Hux officiating. A Masonic service will be held at the beginning of the service as Don had directed. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Chillicothe. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of the services.
