Anna Lenora Gire, 87, of Waverly, Ohio, passed 3:44 p.m., Thursday, September 24, 2026, at her home.
Anna was born May 25, 1939, in Charleston, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Carl Baier, and Geneva (Moore) Baier. She was united in marriage Chester Ray Looney, who preceded her in death, and was later united in marriage to her second husband, Jack Gire, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two sons, Steve D. (Carrie) Looney, and Carl A. (Terri) Looney; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, including special granddaughter Amanda Looney, who spent countless hours caring for Anna; her brother, Michael (Nancy) Baier; and her sister, Carla Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three children, Chester Looney, Jr, Debbie O’Neal, and Stanley Holmes; a great grandson, Chester Looney, III; and her brother, JC Baier.
Anna previously worked as a cook at the Chillicothe VA Hospital, where she eventually retired. She loved to quilt and sew and spent time every day talking with her sister Carla on Facetime.
Visitation will not be observed. Arrangements are under the care of Boyer Cremation Services.
