GREENFIELD, Ohio — The Village of Greenfield has released its schedule for Halloween events this year, with a parade and downtown trick-or-treating set for Oct. 27 and a separate community trick-or-treat night two days later, according to a village announcement.

The festivities begin at 5 p.m. Oct. 27 with the Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire District’s Halloween parade, which will line up at the school on Fifth Street. The Mother’s Club Halloween costume competition follows immediately after the parade, the village said.

Downtown businesses will then hand out candy for trick-or-treat until 9 p.m. that evening.

A second, separate trick-or-treat window is set for Oct. 29, with community trick-or-treating running from 6 to 8 p.m. The village noted that businesses will not be passing out candy during that later date, distinguishing it from the downtown business trick-or-treat held two days earlier.

The Paint Creek Joint EMS & Fire District, headquartered in Greenfield, covers more than 362 square miles across Highland, Fayette and Ross counties, providing 24-hour fire, rescue and EMS response. Greenfield itself sits along Paint Creek on the boundary of Highland and Ross counties, with part of the village also extending into Fayette County.
