Keith A. Richter, 87 of Chillicothe, passed at 10:52 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing in Dublin, Ohio following an extended illness.

He was born April 29, 1939 in Massieville, Ohio to the late Alvin R. and Helen Ingham Richter.

Surviving are a son, Eric (Laura) Richter, of Powell, Ohio; grandchildren, Jersey Richter and Cole (Courtney) Richter; and a sister, Sandra Richter, of San Fransico, CA.

Keith had served in the United States Air Force Reserves. He had worked as a mechanical engineer. He was a deeply patriotic man who took great pride in his country and in serving his community. He believed in giving back and enjoyed volunteering at Adena Mansion, where he could share his appreciation for history and his community with others. He also had a softer side that those who knew him well will remember. He loved his cat, Morris, and could often be found on his porch enjoying the simple pleasure of smoking his pipe. Above all, he will be remembered for the values he lived by-his love of country, his community, and his family.

A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2026 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery where military graveside rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. There will be no visitation hours.
