Cindy Lou (Hartmus) Mullins, 66, passed away 9:30 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2026, at Pavilion of Piketon, where she resided for the past 7 years while battling Alzheimer’s dementia.

Cindy was born November 17, 1959, in Chillicothe, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ronald Steven Hartmus and Dixie Lee (Harrison) Hartmus.

She is survived by her daughter, Serenity Mullins and her dearly loved grandchildren, Myah Mullins, Jayden Mullins and Greyson Chavez, all of Waverly.

Cindy is also survived by her two sisters, Treva (Chris) Hay of Waverly and Holly (Scott) Clary of Chillicothe.

She also leaves her cherished nieces, BethAnne Hart-Bobo (John Creeger), Heather DeJean (Caleb Bapst), and Olivia Clary (Christopher Gillman), and great-nieces, Guinevere Creeger and Emerson Creeger.

Besides her parents, Cindy was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Carolyn Hartmus, her step-father, Frank Turner and her nephew, Elijah Hartmus.

Cindy graduated from Waverly High School in 1978. She attended Hocking College and obtained an associate degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management in 1985.

Cindy worked at Brown Corporation in Waverly for 17 years until she retired due to health concerns.

All of her life, Cindy loved gossip. She knew absolutely everything going on everywhere. Dementia couldn’t even stop this. She was never mean with this behavior; she just always had the hot goss.

Cindy had a love for reading and continued this hobby until her death. She was also an avid clown enthusiast and had a vast collection that scared the heck out of us all. After cremation, Cindy’s ashes will be sealed in a lovely clown container.

While at the Pavilion, Cindy was cared for by the best team of caregivers who became her friends. We thank you all and appreciate your care for Cindy. She was also under Adena Hospice Care for the last 7 months. She was treated with dignity and compassion by such dedicated staff. Thank you all.

Cindy was loved by her family and will be so missed.

Visitation will not be observed. Arrangements are under the care of Boyer Cremation Services.

“And now, I’m glad I didn’t know

The way it all would end, the way it all would go

Our lives are better left to chance

I could’ve missed the pain

But I’d had to miss the dance”
