Charles Edward “Charlie” Hays, 81, of Lucasville, Ohio, passed 10:20 a.m., Monday, October 19, 2026, at the Adena Pike Hospice Center, Waverly, Ohio, surrounded by his family.
Charlie was born November 9, 1944, in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of the late Okey Hays, and Dorothy (Brooks) Hays. On June 10, 1966, he was united in marriage to his wife of sixty years, Linda (Whaley) Hays, who survives.
He is also survived by four children, Charles (Sony) Hays, Jr, Penny (Donnie) Holton, Billy (Sue) Hays, and Dale Hays; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Elizabeth Hays, Patricia Hays Kamer, and Susie Hays Zaler; and two brothers, Willard Hays, and Buddy Hays.
Private graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Bailey Chapel Cemetery, Piketon, Ohio with Pastor Brian Hedden officiating. Burial will immediately follow services.
