Gary Lynn Damron, 74, of Waverly, Ohio, passed 6:35 p.m., Sunday, October 25, 2026, at his home.
Gary was born July 21, 1952, in Wayne County, West Virginia, the son of the late Samuel Damron, Jr, and Ruby Marie (Carrico) Damron. On December 27, 1972, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Parlea (Helton) Damron, who preceded him in death on September 17, 2026.
He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Damron; three grandchildren, Wyatt Savely, Mia Savely, and Faith McDaniel; and two siblings, Donald (Bev) Damron, and Judy (Bill) Kits.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two siblings, Ronald Damron, and Justine Helton.
Gary was a Veteran of the United States Army and previously worked for the VA as a police officer and firefighter. He was a member of the Waverly Amvets, Post #58, and was a previous Commander. He was a baby whisperer, enjoyed woodworking, and loved his family. His grandchildren were his world, and the lights of his life. He will be greatly missed by those that knew and loved him but is now walking hand in hand with his best friend and the love of his life, Cynthia once again.
Visitation will not be observed. Arrangements are under the care of Boyer Cremation Services.
