CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — The city has set its 2026 leaf collection schedule, with crews moving street by street on dates tied to each resident’s regular trash pickup day starting the week of Nov. 2.

Leaves will be collected on the same days as trash for each route, the city said in a social media post. Residents on the Monday and Thursday trash routes will see leaf collection from Nov. 2 through Nov. 6. Those on the Tuesday and Friday routes will be covered from Nov. 9 through Nov. 13, and the Wednesday route will be collected from Nov. 16 through Nov. 20.

The city asked residents not to pile leaves in the street or onto sidewalks. Instead, leaves should be raked into the grassy area between the street and sidewalk, or to the edge of the yard. Leaves will not be removed from in front of a vehicle parked in the way, the city said. Leaves also should not be mixed with branches, grass clippings or other yard waste, since those materials are collected separately.

Residents can also drop off yard waste, including branches and grass clippings, at the city’s Yard Waste Site off Renick Avenue, which is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon. The drop-off site is limited to Chillicothe residents and yard waste only; commercial contractors, mattresses, concrete and appliances are not permitted, according to the city.

The city also offers curbside yard waste pickup year-round for residents who bag clippings in brown biodegradable bags and bundle branches no longer than 4 feet. Residents can schedule a pickup by calling 740-773-9715 or emailing [email protected], according to the city.
