CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — The city’s curbside leaf pickup program will begin Nov. 9 and run through Dec. 31, Circleville officials said this week in response to a resident’s question posted to the city’s weekly Q&A Corner feature on Facebook.
A resident asked whether the city still offers a location where residents can drop off yard waste such as tree branches, recalling a leaf drop-off program from previous years. The city’s Department of Public Service responded that residents can take yard waste to the city Service Garage at 150 Highland Ave., in addition to the seasonal curbside leaf collection that starts next month.
The Q&A Corner is a weekly feature the city uses to field and answer resident questions about municipal services and local government business. Residents can submit questions through a survey linked on the city’s Facebook About page or by scanning a QR code posted with each weekly installment. The city said it will continue answering submitted questions in future posts and asked residents with urgent needs to call City Hall directly at 740-477-8200 rather than wait for a response online.
A second question answered this week addressed seating along city streets during the Circleville Pumpkin Show. A resident asked about the rules on reserving spots on bleachers, citing confusion over whether the practice is allowed. The city said that decision is not its to make — Pumpkin Show Inc., the nonprofit that organizes the annual festival, has control over the streets, alleys and sidewalks within the festival footprint during Pumpkin Show week and sets its own rules on reserving space. The city directed residents with questions about bleacher or sidewalk reservations to contact Pumpkin Show Inc. directly.
The city said the Q&A Corner is not intended for complaints about specific properties or situations; residents with those concerns are asked to submit their contact information so a city employee can follow up individually.
