Denny Lee Riley, 70, of Washington Court House, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2026, at Court House Manor in Washington Court House following an ongoing illness. He was born September 28, 1956, in Bainbridge, Ohio.
Denny will be remembered as a friend to everyone, a man whose kind and warm smile made others feel welcome. He built a life centered on hard work, simple pleasures, and the people he loved most. For more than 20 years, he worked at Fair Chance Farms, a career he dearly loved. He also worked for Williams Tire in Wilmington, Ohio.
Outside of work, Denny enjoyed the things that brought him happiness and freedom. When he was younger, he liked riding his Harley 1200, and he enjoyed listening to music. Above all, he loved spending time with his family, and that devotion remained at the heart of his life.
He is survived by his children, Frank (Shannon Adams) McCain III of Jeffersonville, Eric (Sarah Adams) Riley of Wilmington, and Melissa Riley of Washington Court House; by his grandchildren, Destiny McClain, Ethan Riley, Lucas Adams, and Devon Riley; by his great-granddaughter, Briella Burns; and by his sisters Sue Lute and Diane Storer. He is also remembered by his two feline buddies and by his canine companion, Harley. With gratitude, his family also recognizes the staff of Court House Manor for the excellent care they gave Denny, especially Nurse Chloe and patient care assistant Danielle. They would also like to thank the residents and families of Court House Manor, 2P Medical Transport, and Adena Hospice for their love, compassion, and friendship.
Denny was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Rosa Belle (Wilson) Riley; by his wife, Debra (Smith) Riley; and by his brothers, Jim and Melvin Riley.
