LUCASVILLE, Ohio — Water One has issued a boil advisory for customers along Houston Hollow Candy Run Road, the Scioto County Emergency Management Agency said in a Facebook post.
The advisory covers addresses from 1226A to 2753 Houston Hollow Candy Run Road and is in effect until further notice, according to the EMA. Customers in the affected area are advised to boil tap water for at least two minutes before drinking it or using it for cooking while the advisory remains active.
Infants and people with weakened immune systems face the greatest risk from contaminated water, according to the advisory. Boil advisories are typically issued after a loss of water pressure, a water main break or another disruption that could allow bacteria or other contaminants to enter the distribution system.
Water One, formally known as Scioto County Regional Water District No. 1, is headquartered on state Route 728 in Lucasville. The district, which operates under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 6119 governing regional water and sewer districts, supplies water to customers across eight townships in Scioto County.
