Beverly Ann (Hale) Legg, 72, born April 12, 1954, was born and raised just outside of Beaver, Ohio, and spent most of her life in Piketon, Ohio, where she built a life centered around family, friendship, and caring for others.

Bev was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was a selfless and giving person who always went above and beyond for the people around her. Bev had a way of putting others first, often doing more than anyone asked and never expecting anything in return. Of all the roles she held, being a grandmother was her greatest joy.

Bev was the best Gram to her only grandchild, Emmitt Walker. She cherished every moment with him, and the love they shared was something special. He brought her an immeasurable amount of happiness, and being his Gram was a role she treasured above all else.

Bev worked for many years as the Village of Piketon Clerk-Treasurer before continuing her career with the Scioto Valley School System, where she retired as the Accounts Payable/Food Service Coordinator. Through her years of service, she became part of the community she called home.

She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Legg; her daughter, Dawn Walker, son-in-law, Buster Walker; and her beloved grandson, Emmitt. She is also survived by her siblings, David (Henrietta) Hipply of Wooster, Brenda Mahaffey of Waverly, and Bonnie (Rick) Ward of Waverly; and her nieces and nephews, Austin Kuntzman, Jairus (Sam) Ward, Rowan Ward, and Tyler Hale, whom she loved like a son and helped raise alongside her husband as one of their own.

Bev also leaves behind her very best friend, Teresa Johnson of Piketon, and her cousin, Mary Ellen Preston of Chillicothe. Their friendship, love, guidance, and unwavering support were an immeasurable part of her life. The bond they shared and all they meant to her are difficult to put into words.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia (Ramey) Hale and George Hale, and her brothers, William Hale and Bryan Hale.

Bev leaves behind a family and friends who will forever carry her love, generosity, and selflessness with them. Her greatest legacy isn’t found in the years she worked or the things she accomplished, but in the countless lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to FAIRHOPE Hospice and the staff at The Pickering House for the exceptional love, compassion, and care they provided Beverly and her family. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FAIRHOPE Hospice & Palliative Care, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in Bev’s memory.

Memorial services will be held 7:00 p.m., Monday, November 9, 2026, at Boyer Funeral Home, Waverly, Ohio with Pastor Alan Newberry officiating.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the beginning of the service on Monday at the funeral home in Waverly.
