WAVERLY, Ohio — Valley View Health Centers has added a new nurse practitioner to its primary care team at the Waverly clinic, expanding access to health services in Pike County, according to a news release from the Community Action Committee of Pike County.

Lauren Falls, a certified nurse practitioner, joined the Waverly Health Center at 227 Valley View Drive on Oct. 12, the release said. Falls holds credentials as a master of science in nursing, advanced practice registered nurse and family nurse practitioner.

Falls brings seven years of clinical health care experience spanning medical-surgical care, interventional radiology and nursing education, according to the release. Raised in Friendship, Ohio, and a Lucasville resident for more than 11 years, she completed her advanced nursing education at Kentucky Christian University. The addition follows an earlier expansion of the clinic’s provider roster, when Valley View added a family medicine physician in Waverly in January.

Falls also has specialized clinical training in Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, having completed Echo training through the Ehlers-Danlos Society, the release said. Having navigated the condition herself, Falls said she is focused on raising awareness of EDS within primary care so regional patients can get informed, supportive treatment closer to home rather than traveling to metropolitan medical centers.

“Having called southern Ohio home my entire life, practicing here as a nurse practitioner is a natural extension of my personal and professional journey,” Falls said in a statement. “I believe healthcare works best as a partnership. My goal is to create a welcoming, judgment-free space where patients know their concerns are taken seriously and that they have an advocate in their corner.”

Valley View Health Centers are Federally Qualified Health Centers operated by the Community Action Committee of Pike County that provide patient-centered care throughout south-central Ohio regardless of a patient’s ability to pay, the release said.

Patients interested in scheduling an appointment with Falls can call the Waverly clinic at 740-947-7726 or visit valleyviewhealth.org.
