LEESBURG, Ohio — The Highland County North Joint Fire & Ambulance District will host its annual Turkey Bingo fundraiser Nov. 21 at the department’s firehouse, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and games starting at 6 p.m., the district said in a Facebook post.
Organizers are encouraging players to arrive early, since seating is limited and the event typically fills up. Food and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
Winners will take home turkeys as prizes throughout the night, with a split-the-pot game and a cover-all finale rounding out the session. The last game of the night awards a whole turkey dinner to its winner, according to the district.
The event will be held at the department’s station at 200 South St. in Leesburg.
The Highland County North Joint Fire & Ambulance District is a combination department serving the Leesburg area of Highland County, staffed primarily by volunteer and paid-per-call firefighters and EMS personnel operating out of a single station. Bingo nights and similar community events are a longstanding way for volunteer fire districts in rural Ohio to raise money for equipment and operations outside of levy funding.
