Helen Jean “Jeanne” Hice, of Chillicothe, died on Friday, November 6, 2026, at Vineyard of Concord, Frankfort. She was born in Chillicothe on April 11, 1938, to Harry and Isabelle (Edginton) Dennewitz. On April 26, 1958, she was united in marriage to Carl Richard Hice who passed away November 4, 2013.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Karla Hice of Columbus, Jodi Kelley, and Gregory Hice, both of Chillicothe, three grandchildren, Payton Mead, Kessa Hice, and Kati Leedom, four great-grandchildren, Melissa, Zoe, and Hayden Hice, and Alaina Hice, and her fur baby, Dougal. She will also be sadly missed by her many other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Jeanne is preceded in death by her husband Carl and her siblings.
Jeanne was a proud mother and grandmother. She was a woman of great faith which was woven into her very personality. She was loving, gentle, a great listener, and always had a smile on her face. Her favorite song was, You are my Sunshine and her favorite phrase of hers was “Dynamite comes in small packages.”
The family would like to extend special thanks to Adena Hospice, Aunt Martha from NCR, and the aids that provided loving care, Brittany, Anna, Tiffany, and Zoey.
Friends may call on Wednesday, November 11, 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. A Private family service with burial to follow at Floral Hill Memory Gardens will occur at the family’s convenience.
