WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio — One person has died after a fire in Washington Court House.
It happened Saturday afternoon at the Washington Middle School Apartments along North Street.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released, however, a person who lived in one of the units died, according to fire personnel. The state fire marshal’s office was called to the scene to investigate.
The name of the person who perished was not immediately released. The body was transported to the Franklin County Coroner for an autopsy.
In 2010, the building was sold and decommissioned as a school and turned into senior housing for those who are 55 years and older.
