CHILLICOTHE, Ohio —- Firefighters responded to a house fire Monday morning in Chillicothe.
According to initial reports, multiple fire crews responded to the 200 block of South Hickory on a fully engulfed structure fire.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene and worked to battle the blaze.
According to Captain Michael Short of the Chillicothe Police Department, one person died in the fire.
“It is confirmed that one person is deceased. An investigation has been started and is ongoing by the Chillicothe Police Department Detective Division, Chillicothe Fire Department, State Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Ross County Coroner’s Office, ” said Short.
The name of the victim was not immediately released by officials.
