CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — A serious crash overnight left many Chillicothe residents in the dark.
The crash happened around 1 a.m. along South Watt Street in the city’s east end.
According to reports, a vehicle was traveling along the roadway when it crashed into an electric pole.
The pole, officials said, was broken from the impact.
Medics from the city were dispatched to the scene.
The name of those involved and the extent of any injuries were not immediately released.
American Electric Power sent workers to the area to begin repairs and power restoration.
AEP first gave a restoration time of 3 a.m., but as of Thursday morning, many residents are still waiting.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
