EF-0 tornado confirmed in Pickaway and Fairfield Co.

PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio — The National Weather Service in Wilmington confirmed that a weak EF-0 tornado touched down in Pickaway County shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The Guardian brought you live on-the-scene coverage of the storm’s aftermath that left at least four people injured, including a woman whose RV was tossed by the twister. 

No advanced warning was given by the NWS prior to the tornado hitting the area. Residents told the Guardian that the storm caught them by surprise. 

Several structures were damaged as a result of the high winds. The hardest hit region, according to officials, was around the Kingston Pike and Tarlton Road areas. 

Crews spent much of Sunday evening clearing downed trees from area roadways. 

NWS survey teams also visited areas in Fairfield County where the same storm produced another tornado. The official reports have not been released at this time.
