Robert D. “Bob” Barrett, age 89 of Leesburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2023 at his home. 

He was born August 20, 1933, in Leesburg, the son of the late Robert Carl and Nellie Pearl (Lieurance) Barrett. 

Bob was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, loved horses, farming, and in particular, raising cattle.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. 

He is survived by five children, Robert D. “Bobby” Barrett and Steve Barrett, both of Leesburg, Debbie (John) Henize of Lynchburg, Keith (Sherry) Barrett of New Vienna and Sandy (Chris) Fenner of Leesburg; ten grandchildren, Jason Sowders of Leesburg, Melanie (J.D.) Hamilton of Hillsboro, Michelle (Nathan) Van Winkle of Leesburg, Nick (Gretchen) Barrett of Huntersville, North Carolina, Brooke Fenner of Leesburg, Kristen (Byron) Huston of Aberdeen, Brock (Megan) Barrett of Columbus, Karee Barrett of Michigan, Bradley Dunn of Delaware and Jessica Willoughby of Wilmington; eighteen great grandchildren, Nolan, Clara, Raegan, Justin, Halle, Emma, Hannah, Launa, Lyla, Heath, Jaxon, Maddox, Ella, Elias, Jase, Lane, Gary Wayne and Xander; a sister-in-law, Sally Barrett of Greenfield; as well as several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Clara Ann (Henson) Barrett, who passed away December 17, 2008; and siblings Helen Barrett, Carol Ann Barrett, Eileen Morrow, John Barrett, Ben Barrett and Harry Barrett. 

A funeral service for Mr. Barrett will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday February 28, 2023 at the Leesburg Church of Christ.  Kevin Stuckey and Rev. John Fitzgerald will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Leesburg Church Christ.
