ATHENS, Ohio — In an effort to promote fire safety in the community, the Athens Fire Department has announced it will be giving away 50 free smoke detectors while supplies last.
The initiative is set to take place at both Athens fire stations, located at 61 Columbus Rd. and 454 Richland Avenue, from Monday, March 13th to Friday, March 17th between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The program is part of the Athens Fire Department’s ongoing commitment to keeping residents safe by ensuring that homes have functioning smoke detectors. Residents are limited to one free smoke detector per household and are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity.
Any questions or assistance required for installation can be addressed by contacting the local fire department.
