CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – The newly renovated playground at the Don Coppel Athletic Complex is officially open following a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Friday, November 15. Community members gathered at the park, located at 134 Star Drive, to celebrate the improvements, which include updated equipment and enhanced accessibility features designed to make the playground enjoyable and safe for everyone.

The event was hosted by the Ross County Park District and the Ross County Chamber of Commerce, with local leaders present.

The renovations were funded in part through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), with additional support from county resources.

The playground now includes resilient surfacing for improved safety and accessible equipment, broadening its reach to children with diverse needs. These upgrades are part of the Ross County Park District’s ongoing efforts to improve recreational facilities in the area. Accessible and engaging parks provide families with an enjoyable outdoor space, benefiting the entire community.
