CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – A response from local deputies on December 21, led to the arrest of a male suspect attempting to break into Countryside Rentals on Douglas Avenue. Deputies found the suspect, identified as Barry Walls, using bolt cutters to damage the rear door. He was taken into custody after a brief attempt to evade arrest.
The incident began with a burglar alarm alert at “door 8” of the warehouse used for Rent 2 Own, reports read. Deputies responded, reportedly hearing suspicious noises and discovering Walls damaging the door. Despite initial compliance, Walls, deputies said, attempted to hide under a truck but was soon detained with the help of the Chillicothe Police Department.
The keyholder confirmed previous break-ins at the location, estimating significant damage costs. Walls faces multiple charges, including breaking and entering, vandalism, and resisting arrest, among others.
