WASHINGTON, D.C. — Gerber Products Company is recalling all batches of its GERBER® Soothe N Chew® Teething Sticks due to a potential choking hazard, the company announced on January 31, 2025. The recall affects both the Strawberry Apple and Banana varieties of the teething sticks, which were sold nationwide and to retail locations across several states and territories.

The recall was prompted by consumer complaints involving choking incidents, with one reported emergency room visit. Although the company has yet to confirm any additional injuries, the decision to recall the products was made after careful consideration of safety concerns. “We sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience this action represents to parents, caregivers, and retail customers,” said the company in a statement.

The affected products include:

  • GERBER® Soothe N Chew® Teething Sticks – Strawberry Apple, 3.2 oz (90g), UPC 0 15000 04618 7
  • GERBER® Soothe N Chew® Teething Sticks – Banana, 3.2 oz (90g), UPC 0 15000 04608 8
  • GERBER® Soothe N Chew® Teething Sticks – Banana, 1.59 oz (45g), UPC 0 15000 01015 7

All lot codes of these products are included in the recall.

Gerber has urged consumers who purchased these products to stop using them immediately. Parents and caregivers are advised to return the teething sticks to the retailer for a full refund. If there is any concern about an injury or illness, Gerber recommends contacting a health care provider.

The company is working closely with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) to address the situation and ensure the safety of its customers. For additional support or questions, Gerber is available 24/7 at 1-800-4-GERBER (1-800-443-7237).
