PICKAWAY COUNTY, Ohio – A 19‑year‑old Lancaster man was shot during a fight at a mobile home in Pickaway County, authorities said. Deputies were called to 4800 Duvall Road on the afternoon of Dec. 8 and found Layton A. Waugh with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center by Harrison Township EMS and later released in stable condition. Witnesses told investigators that others involved fled the scene in a silver Saturn Ion with a black front fender.

Detectives located the vehicle the next day in Columbus and seized it with assistance from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. After reviewing forensic and digital evidence, investigators obtained arrest warrants for Tyler A. Stepp, 20, and Layle R. Mohler, 19, both of Columbus, on charges of complicity to felonious assault and complicity to aggravated robbery. Stepp was arrested Dec. 17, while Mohler remains at large, the sheriff’s office said.
