CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — Authorities are investigating after several mailboxes were found damaged at a local post office earlier this week.

According to a report from the Chillicothe Police Department, officers were dispatched around 11 a.m. on March 4 to the post office on Walnut Street following a report of a theft.

The first damaged mailbox was discovered Monday morning, March 2, when staff noticed the front glass had been broken out. Additional damage was discovered on Wednesday when two more mailboxes had their glass panels smashed.

Officials said it is unclear whether any mail or items were taken from the boxes.

Police noted that no witnesses or surveillance cameras captured the incident. Investigators currently have no leads in the case.
