CIRCLEVILLE, Ohio — Two Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office corrections officers have graduated from a corrections training academy hosted by the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
Amy Conrad and Mason Stewart completed the program Friday morning. The training covers skills for working with inmates in a jail setting, unarmed self-defense and other core corrections duties, according to the sheriff’s office.
Pickaway County Corrections Capt. Matt Evans and Sgt. Chuck Reed attended the graduation ceremony to support the two new officers, the sheriff’s office said.
The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office corrections division, which oversees jail operations, food service, prisoner transport and court security for that county, is commanded by Capt. Damon Roberts. Pickaway County’s sheriff’s office is led by Sheriff Matthew O. Hafey.
Conrad and Stewart now join the ranks of Pickaway County’s corrections staff, who are responsible for the day-to-day operation and security of the county jail in Circleville.
