HIGHLAND COUNTY, Ohio — A man was charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint after a disturbance call on U.S. 62 in Highland County, then arrested a day later at a residence in neighboring Adams County, according to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
Highland County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to U.S. 62 on Sunday in response to a report of a domestic disturbance, the sheriff’s office said. When deputies arrived, one of the people involved in the disturbance had already left the scene, according to the release.
Following an investigation, James Winland was charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint, the sheriff’s office said.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office later located Winland at a residence in that county and took him into custody, according to the release. He was transported to the Highland County Jail.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
