HILLSBORO, Ohio — A Hillsboro man is facing an assault charge and two relatives were cited for disorderly conduct after a deputy responded to a fight in the 1200 block of Burgess Road, according to the Highland County Sheriff’s Office.
Chad H. Fraze, 44, of Hillsboro, was charged with assault following the July 31 call, the sheriff’s office said in its regular incident report. James M. Anderson III, 60, and James M. Anderson IV, 27, both of Hillsboro, were each cited for disorderly conduct in connection with the same incident.
The Burgess Road case was one of several incidents Highland County deputies handled July 31 and Aug. 1. Earlier July 31, a deputy sent to check on a suspicious person in the 7100 block of Woodland Trail learned that the person who had called for help had an outstanding warrant. John T. Layne II, 43, of Hillsboro, was taken into custody on a drug possession charge, the sheriff’s office said.
A resident in the 12000 block of Sunshine Drive reported a fraud complaint July 31, deputies said.
On Aug. 1, a resident in the 10000 block of Leaverton Road reported harassment. After an investigation, a man was given a warning for telecommunications harassment, according to the sheriff’s office. A theft was also reported in the 7900 block of Main Street in Highland.
The sheriff’s office also listed five people arrested or cited on outstanding warrants and other charges: Michael A. Campanaro Sr., 49, of Hillsboro, failure to appear; Dylan M. Harner, 28, of Leesburg, failure to appear, contempt of court and unauthorized use of a vehicle; Jefrery D. Waulk, 45, of Highland, driving under suspension; Brandy R. Rinehart, 32, of Russellville, driving under suspension; and Kindra D. Williams, 48, of Sardinia, failure to appear.
Deputies, along with fire and EMS crews, responded to 119 calls for service between July 31 and Aug. 1, including 66 law enforcement calls, 42 EMS runs and 11 fire calls, the sheriff’s office said. The Highland County Jail held 50 inmates as of the report — 44 men and six women.
Suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
