CHILLICOTHE, Ohio — East Second Street will close for nearly 11 hours Thursday to make way for the city’s monthly First Thursday food truck festival, according to the city of Chillicothe.
The closure will run from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Aug. 6, covering East Second Street between North Paint Street and Majestic Theatre Alley, the city said in a Facebook post. Drivers who rely on that stretch should plan for detours during those hours.
First Thursday is a recurring summer event organized by First Capital Rotary and held on East Second Street in downtown Chillicothe on the first Thursday of June, July and August. The festival runs from 5 to 9 p.m. and features food trucks, a beer wagon and live entertainment, with $5 admission. Organizers have said proceeds from the event go back into the community to support local initiatives and projects.
Residents and business owners with questions about the closure can call the city’s Service Department at 740-773-2700 or email [email protected], the city said.
