NEW BOSTON, Ohio — Drivers on U.S. 52 near the Walmart intersection at Taylor Avenue should expect delays Tuesday and Wednesday as crews work on the traffic signals there, the New Boston Police Department said.

The work is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, according to the department. Eastbound and westbound traffic on U.S. 52 will be affected at the Taylor Avenue intersection while the lights are serviced.

Traffic leaving the Walmart parking lot and heading eastbound toward Sciotoville and Wheelersburg will be redirected to the traffic light near Guthrie’s, the department said in a Facebook post.

New Boston sits along U.S. 52 just east of Portsmouth in Scioto County, and the Taylor Avenue intersection serves as one of the village’s busiest commercial corridors, connecting the Walmart shopping area to through traffic bound for the Sciotoville and Wheelersburg areas farther east.

The police department asked drivers for their patience and cooperation while the work is completed.
